This Code promotes ethical conduct among all members and affiliates of the Ghana Judo Federation (GJF), ensuring that Judo in Ghana is practiced with respect, integrity, and fairness, in accordance with the International Judo Federation (IJF) Code of Ethics.
This Code applies to:
– GJF-registered clubs and members
– Executive and administrative officials
– Coaches, referees, and technical staff
– Athletes, participants, and volunteers
– Event organizers and support personnel
– Engagement in any GJF activity implies full commitment to this Code.
1. Integrity and Fair Play
All members shall act with honesty, fairness, and discipline. Manipulation, favoritism, or any form of unfair advantage is strictly prohibited.
2. Respect and Inclusion
Everyone must be treated with dignity, irrespective of gender, religion, background, or ability. Discrimination or harassment of any form is unacceptable.
3. Transparency and Accountability
Officials and members must act openly, responsibly, and disclose conflicts of interest when they arise.
4. Compliance with Laws and Regulations
All members shall respect the GJF Constitution, the IJF Statutes, the Olympic Charter, and relevant national laws.
5. Clean Sport and Athlete Safety
All participants must comply with the World Anti-Doping Code and prioritize the safety, health, and welfare of athletes.
– Leaders and Coaches: Provide guidance, safeguard athlete welfare, and serve as role models.
– Referees and Officials: Maintain impartiality and fairness in all officiating duties.
– Athletes: Exhibit discipline, humility, and respect on and off the mat.
– All Members: Protect the integrity and image of the Ghana Judo Federation at all times.
1. Any act of bribery, corruption, or acceptance of improper gifts is forbidden.
2. Abuse—physical, emotional, or sexual—will not be tolerated.
3. Disrespect, defamation, or incitement against GJF leadership or its decisions constitutes misconduct.
4. Members shall not use media or social platforms to bring the Federation into disrepute.
5. Constructive feedback must be directed through official channels only.
Violations of this Code shall attract appropriate disciplinary actions, including:
– Written warning or reprimand
– Suspension or expulsion from GJF activities
– Disqualification from events
– Referral to law enforcement when necessary
The GJF Ethics Committee will regularly review and update this Code and ensure continuous ethics training for all stakeholders.
